Learning Leader Training Course Overview
Vanguard College of Cosmetology's course outline meets the Louisiana State Board's required hours of study for the standard cosmetology course.
The Instructor Course consists of 500 hours and requires a basic cosmetologist license, and a high school diploma or GED. The instructor trainer will be given culture training which includes how students think, how they receive information, and how they process information. They will spend the beginning of their training with the core class, where they will be refreshed on the basics of cosmetology. The student instructor will move on to the adaptive theory class where they will assist and teach adaptive curriculum with the guidance of a licensed instructor. The student instructor will also help supervise on the clinic floor and help the students with their assigned clinic projects. The student instructor will receive instruction on teaching skills. They will be evaluated on all assignments.

In addition to hair design, our industry also offers opportunities in skin care, makeup, fashion photography, nail artistry, product educators, platform artists, and salon management. According to statistics, the average reported income for full-time professionals is incredible!
Schedule Information
A student instructor must clock at between 18 and 35 hours a week to complete their curriculum. In an effort to help you fulfill your dream of becoming a licensed Learning Leader, Vanguard offers day classes that should meet the needs of individual personal schedules.
